Why is it difficult to exercise or do sports?
The answer is the exact same, whether you're training for the Olympics or fitness walking. Logically, any exercise or training that is above the resting state increases the body's need for oxygen and energy to perform. If you engage in an activity that is harder than your body is used, it will stress your system and cause a cascade effect.
The case of oxidative stress is subtle in your cells and leads to cell death and nonviability. These lead to such outcomes as muscle loss, fatigue, and additionally the condition where the body part swells up. Oxidative Stress appears and begins to attack cells and unbalance them in a way that the muscle is prone to inflammation, fatigue, and cell death. During vigorous activity, the glycogen will begin to be metabolized by the muscles throughout your body. Then you get soreness, especially from the accumulated lactic acid, and a burning sensation which in turn may make one feel tired and have aching muscles. This results in lesser endurance, poor performance, bad results, and again less fun.
Improved Exercise Performance
Hydrogen water improves athletic performance, endurance and strength.
~ Dr. Rafael Timon from Universidad de Extremadura, Spain ~
Rafael Timon's team performed an experiment in order to determine the effects of drinking hydrogen water on people. The researchers tested athletes as well as people who were not used to exercising. Researchers tested the participants' endurance, strength, and sports performance by having them drink hydrogen water daily.
They found that drinking hydrogen-water had a positive effect on both groups' physical performance. It improved endurance, strength and athletic ability. It could be due to the antioxidants in hydrogen water that reduce stress and inflammation. It suggests that drinking hydrogen water even for a short period of time can be beneficial to your performance.
Neuroprotection
Hydrogen water is good for your mental and physical health.
~ Dr. Akihiro Sasaki, KDDI, Japan ~
It's not just for your body; hydrogen water can help you with your brain. It can protect your brain, keep it sharp and help athletes stay focused in high-pressure situations. Akihiro Sasaki, his team and others studied the effects of drinking hydrogen-rich (HRW) water for four weeks on adults. The results were positive. The results were positive. It helped people feel happier and less anxious. This could be because it reduced stress and inflammation within the central nervous systems. It also seemed to improve their brains and make their bodies more relaxed, even when they were not exercising. It seems that HRW is a great way to improve both physical and mental well-being.
Hydrogen water appears to be very popular, and as we have evident by athletes, it has numerous health benefits. This kind of water also has antioxidants that can amplify the benefits of exercise, reduce inflammation, and even improve your performance. Hydrogen water is the best thing for athletes wishing to be at their best-performing state possible at all times.
H2 Increases your energy by drinking water
ATP is the currency of energy for your body. Food and oxygen that we consume create ATP, which powers our cells and all of our activities. H2 water is used to create ATP. But every minute, oxygen also produces free radicals. This is a simple fact of aerobic metabolism. Your mitochondria are damaged by free radicals, particularly oxygen radicals. When damaged mitochondria are not able to produce enough ATP, the body starts to metabolize kept glycogen. The liver is the main location of glycogen stores. They are used to produce energy.
The smallest molecule of the universe, H2, diffuses quickly through cell membranes and neutralizes damaging free radicals. The protective properties of H2 allow your mitochondria to produce optimum levels of ATP. This gives you more energy. Research has shown that when you need to go beyond your ATP, which we all do sometimes during training or activity, H2 can help increase the glycogen in your liver.
Research is conclusive. The research is in. Go further. Go stronger.
H2 water can increase your VO2 Max
Recent research found that drinking hydrogen-rich tap water led to a higher VO2 Max, time until exhaustion, and total work compared to a placebo group. The study found no adverse effects or contraindications.
Hydrogen Water Reduces Lactic Acid Buildup
Lactic acid is produced by your body whenever it starts to burn stored glycogen. The increased lactic acid builds up leads to fatigue, sore muscles and slower recovery. Exercise-induced metabolic acidsis is common in highly active people and highly trained athletes. This is another silent effect. If you have acidosis, you won't even know it unless you feel and see that you're not performing well.
H2 Water for Reducing Muscle Soreness
A recent study showed that athletes who drink hydrogen-rich water perform better. The control group of highly-trained elite athletes experienced a decrease in muscle fatigue as well as lactate levels in their blood when they drank H2 rich water prior to intense exercise.
In a similar study, H2 infusing water reduced the rate of perceived effort and lactic buildup during maximum exercise. The exact mechanism of the effect was not determined, but the study concluded hydrogen-rich water reduces physical stress during maximum exercise.
Pre-exercise hydration using hydrogen-rich water reduced blood lactate and improved the exercise-induced decline in muscle function.
~ Kosuke Aoki, et al Medical Gas Research, 2012

H2 Water Protects Against Oxidative Stress
The more the activity level, the more oxidation stress on the body is experienced or rather endured. Any ‘bang start,’ or loading over the first day’s acclimatization tolerance: (weekend warriors, interval training, competitions, etc.). This leads to exercise induced metabolic acidosis and increased free radical production or oxidative stress. The symptoms of overtraining are fatigue, rigidity of muscles, and micro lesions within musculature fibers. No matter what form the oxidative stress is in, it is never a good thing.
Scientists have long known that H2 neutralizes radicals easily, especially the hydroxyl (*OH+) and oxide radical ions (0+). It is important to note that H2 seems to target only the hydroxyl ion which is most toxic for the cells. Other free radicals, such as nitric oxide radicals (e.g. Nitric oxide radicals are important for cell physiology, and even homeostasis. H2 is a superior antioxidant because it does not alter these good radicals.
H2 Improves recovery time and healing
Recovery is more complex than simply muscle repair. As athletes refer to recovery, it involves chemical and hormone balance, nervous system repairs, mental state and more. We can strain muscles or connective tissues. Recovery requires that you address many factors.
Hydrogen water is more than just a recovery drink for muscles. It has shown cell signaling capabilities that are critical to brain and neurological functions.
Hydrogen Water Improves Your Hydration
Researchers have concluded that H2 improves cellular water retention. This also explains the fact that no study has been published which found any negative effects of drinking H2 saturated water.
The H2 Solution
It's safe. It's 100% natural. The research shows that H2 water is a direct solution to many of our problems in terms of achieving more success, enjoyment and results with our fitness, athletics and activities. It is also effective in treating a wide range of conditions that are related to oxidative stresses, far beyond the ones caused by fitness or our own activities. The majority of H2 research has focused on chronic diseases caused by oxidation. H2 water is shown to have a positive effect on conditions related to oxidation. These include diabetes, strokes, rheumatoid arthritis, arteriosclerosis, and more.
Where can I get H2 water?
The world's most famous "healing waters" have been tested and found to be free of contaminants, as well as slightly alkaline. These waters contain negative ionization as well as dissolved molecular hydrogen.
The SuperHydro integrates cutting-edge industry technology (SPE/PEM) into our product updates, particularly with the H2 Boost Hydrogen Water Bottle.
